While we may shy away from our grief, loss is a universal experience of being human. Our broken hearts have the potential to open us to a wider sense of identity and a deeper connection to the world around us. By working intentionally with grief, we are initiated into a more inclusive conversation between our singular lives and the soul of the world. In this workshop we will join together to explore how to embrace grief as an ally, a teacher, and a guide in living a more authentic life. Using the work of grief guru Francis Weller as a framework, we will harness the tenderness of our hearts to practice living in the creative tension between grief and gratitude. Together, we honor what was lost and what can be recovered through the sacred power of grief. This workshop is for you if you have been looking for support through loss and pain, both on a personal and collective level. There is much to grieve these days; let's do it together.
what to expect
Class will involve group discussion around what it means to grieve well, space for personal sharing and connection, and guided practices to connect to grief in a healthy and empowering way.
You will have the opportunity to have your grief held by a compassionate group, however you are not expected or asked to share what doesn't feel comfortable. The intention of this workshop is to give you an opportunity to lay your grief at the altar of love, and to receive the fortitude that comes from grieving in a group.
What to bring: Please bring a journal, water bottle, anything that will help you feel comfortable, and a sacred object for the altar, if you wish. Mats, bolsters, and blankets will be supplied by the studio.
There is so much to grieve in this world. Let's do it together.

What others have said about working with Katya
"I wanted an inclusive, holistic kind of support, in which there was an integration of mind, body, and spirit. This was the kind of transformational work I was seeking. The self-trust and self-compassion I’ve gained are key anchors that guide me along my healing journey. "~ Heather
"I came to Katya with a heaviness I was carrying within me. She supported me and challenged my way of seeing things in a way few people have. She is very real and very human. She has helped me discover my purpose and feel more confident about myself and the direction of my life. Without her I don't know how I would have gotten through a very difficult time in my life." ~ Peter
Upcoming Workshops:
"The Wild Edge of Sorrow: A Sacred Grief Workshop"
Add on a discounted 1:1 session for personalized support. (This will be a separate payment directly to Katya, rather than the studio. Sessions will be conducted over Zoom.)
If you're feeling called to this workshop, there is likely a reason. This is a gentle and safe support for those who are curious about alternative ways of managing stress and emotional pain, and who want to connect to others in a group experience. While this workshop is therapeutic in nature, it is not a replacement for therapy. It teaches skills and creates a safe container and community in which to explore these tools. While these tools are invaluable to healing, one-on-one work is also essential. If you are not already, I recommend you supplement this group course with individual counseling (you can find options on psychologytoday.com or you can learn more about working with me 1:1).
All identities and orientations are welcome. This workshop is for anyone with a sincere interest in exploring their holistic well-being, and who wants to be an active participant in their healing.
