What is Yoga Nidra?
This transformative guided practice facilitates release of tension on all levels, assists in the unraveling of karma, promotes physiological and emotional wellbeing, and opens the door to expanded states of consciousness. Yoga Nidra can be used for spiritual development, for therapeutic applications, or to rebalance the sleep cycle and healthy body function. It is an ancient science that has become more relevant and necessary than ever as a tool for the healing of humanity. Yoga Nidra is now a sought out modality in yoga studios, health clinics, hospitals, schools, therapy settings, and coaching.
In the LoveJoy Yoga Nidra Healer Training program, you will clear out old trauma and stagnation in your body and mind, align with your soul, and activate your own inner healer through the ancient and powerful practice of Yoga Nidra. Hale Akua Garden Farms overlooks 30 miles of untouched Hawaiian coastline on the slopes of Haleakala, Maui’s majestic dormant volcano near the town of Paia.
This is the ideal place to dive deep into the healing, rejuvenation, and transformation that Yoga Nidra has to offer. In addition to a full 25 hour Yoga Nidra Healer Training, we will have daily Yoga Nidra classes plus ample time for relaxing, journaling, spa treatments, and adventure. We'll also have the chance to deepen our connection with Mother Earth through optional permaculture classes, exploration of the lush jungle and waterfalls, or simply relaxing in the pool or a hot tub overlooking the vast Pacific coastline.
Maui is sacred land that offers us a potent container for this deep healing and training experience. We will be nourished by her landscapes, energy, and local high vibrational and delicious food. This training is multidimensional and includes a detailed manual, lectures, experiential learning, practice teaching, and writing workshops for creating your own unique style of leading Yoga Nidra. This training is open to anyone who wants to go deeper in their own meditation and self-healing practice, as well as those who want to learn how to facilitate this powerful meditation technique for others in a variety of settings such as yoga studios, schools, hospitals, business offices, therapeutic and coaching sessions, or with family members to create peace at home.
LoveJoy Yoga Nidra is a powerful guided practice influenced by the teachings I have received through a decade of yoga, hypnotherapy, and shamanic studies. LoveJoy Yoga Nidra is guided by my ever evolving exploration of the healing potential of altered states of consciousness and a balanced nervous system. This style of Yoga Nidra is a systematic journeying practice that explores and clears different levels of consciousness, while supporting the grounding of spiritual energy into the physical body. This practice activates and maintains healthy functioning on body, mind, energy, and soul levels. The intention of this practice is to support our liberation, empowerment, creativity, unconditional love, and joy of being.

Is this a training or a retreat? It's both! I used to teach this training in three jam-packed days, but I realized what I wanted to teach was too much to fit into one weekend. Yoga Nidra is all about slowing down, being present, and allowing space for integration. The weekend format of the training didn't support this, and therefore wasn't in integrity with the practice itself. After being on a retreat myself, I realized the profound impact that stepping away from my daily routine had on improving my life on all levels. Taking time out for reflection, rest, and exploration of the deeper parts of being human is so incredibly valuable for filling our own cup and being able to show up in the world from a place of greater service and integrity. Offering this training retreat style allows the time and space to immerse yourself into Yoga Nidra and learn all you need to feel prepared to teach it, while at the same time allowing you ample time to rest, reflect, receive, adventure, and connect. How is LoveJoy Yoga Nidra different from other styles of Yoga Nidra? LoveJoy Yoga Nidra is founded on the principles and practice of the Satyananda style of Yoga Nidra from the Bihar lineage. Where LoveJoy Yoga Nidra differs is that it is a trauma-informed practice, and there is greater attention paid to creating safety and containment. This style of Yoga Nidra also explores the subconscious mind in a deeper way through incorporating elements of hypnotherapy and shamanic journeying in order to create a dynamic, holistic, transformative, and healing experience.
When should I fly in and out of Hawaii? We begin the training on Sunday evening, and end on Saturday morning. You will be flying into Kahului Airport (OGG) Arrive March 22, leave March 28
Should I rent a car? This is a personal decision. There will be a group shuttle to and from the airport. However, you might want to rent a car so that you can feel free to explore the island. There will also be ample free time every day, and you are encouraged to explore the island how you choose - a rental car could be a great resource for that. Uber and Lyft and not reliable since the retreat center is remote.
