Perhaps, like me, you've been feeling the weight of the world. The pandemic, civil injustices, climate collapse, war. Whether you've allowed yourself to acknowledge it or not, we've collectively experienced massive loss and change, and it has left an imprint on each of us. There is a profound grief that is present in the world today that, no matter how much we might try, is impossible to ignore. You might be feeling anxiety, or you might be feeling numb. Both are valid responses to stress and trauma.
The world has changed. We are bombarded with information beyond what our ancestors could have imagined, let alone tolerated. Yet, we are expected to continue working and "holding it together." Holding it all in can help us survive in the short term, but over time it keeps trauma locked in our systems which can result in a host of physical and mental illness.
so what can we do?
While it's true that we are living in unprecedentedly stressful times, it is also true that as humans we are designed with a biological and spiritual blueprint to help us process and release energy. The physical body is designed to be able to complete and let go of stressful experiences. Our consciousness has a natural pathway of reconnecting to a place of peace and nourishment.
The only problem for most of us is - no one told us we have this capacity so it has largely remained dormant. Instead of engaging our inner resources to process pain, we've been conditioned live from the neck up, to avoid uncomfortable emotions at all costs, and to make sense of senseless situations by getting into thought loops, or ignoring them completely.
Talking through our experiences is important, especially in community. It is also important to work on deeper levels including the soma (body) and the subconscious, because this is where trauma impacts us most deeply. We must go beyond the level of thinking about it and into an experience that will help us process and integrate our pain.
To reclaim a sense of wholeness after overwhelming events or loss, we must lovingly show up for ourselves and tend to our pain. We must have an experience that supports the rewiring of safety and agency into the body and the subconscious. It requires tending to the deeper beliefs, emotions, and sensations connected to stress, and rediscovering our way back to wholeness and belonging.
This experience could be right for you if...
you feel overwhelmed and fatigued
you feel isolated
you feel like you are constantly "holding on," whether that's mentally or through tension in the body
you feel empty or like a part of you is missing
you feel numb and disconnected
you struggle with anger or crying outbursts
you feel anxious and stressed
you know there are things from the past that are still affecting you
you feel an emotional pain your heart and don't know what to do about it
you are often taking care of other people's needs and don't make much time for yourself
you're not sure how to process everything that's going on in the world
The Trauma Release Experience is a 4 week course that guides you through several experiential practices that support you to release trauma energy and increase your capacity to manage stress. We will explore on mind, body, and energetic levels how to find a pathway back to wholeness and peace. While we cannot always change the world around us, we can become more adaptable and resilient, connected to an inner sense of agency and balance.
Each week you will experience new tools that you can integrate into your regular self care practice. Each session will offer new information, followed by a guided practice designed to help you release and replenish. These practices shift your energy and restore a sense of grounding and support. While there will be some degree of teaching each week, the purpose of these sessions is to have an embodied experience that can help you feel better. Therefore, if you are already familiar with some of these techniques, this is a place where you can feel supported in diving into them for your continued healing.
Sessions will also include time for each participant to share, so that we can deepen in connection and community, and nurture our need for belonging and support.
Week 1: Grounding We'll explore how trauma shows up in the body and the mind, how to practice grounding when you are triggered, and how to connect to your inner resources through a gentle hypnotherapy practice.
Week 2: Trauma Release We'll dive into two practices: Trauma Release Exercises and Yoga Nidra, which both support the release and integration of trauma energy on physical, psychological, and energetic levels.
Week 3: Heart Opening We will practice a heart-opening breathwork technique that helps to clear the body of tension as well as make space for grief to be released in a safe and supported way.
Week 4: Integration The last session will focus on anchoring in wholeness and wellness, which will be supported by a final session of TRE and Yoga Nidra.
What others have said about working with Katya
"I wanted an inclusive, holistic kind of therapy, in which there was an integration of mind, body, and spirit. This was the kind of transformational therapy I was seeking. I now have a deeper understanding of the different parts of myself and how they work together, and what has led them to develop in the ways they have. The self-trust and self-compassion I’ve gained are key anchors that guide me along my healing journey. "~ Heather
"Katya is an incredible teacher, an incredible guide, and I can't thank her enough for creating and holding the container for this group of amazing souls to connect and release what was holding them back. Immediately after our session I felt like I got my light back. I've had so many people who have not seen me for some time comment on my energy. This was a profoundly important and life-changing course." ~ Kristina

Still questioning if this course is for you?
If you're feeling called to this course, there's likely a reason. This is a gentle and safe support for those who are curious about alternative ways of managing stress and emotional pain, and who want to connect to others in a group experience. While this course is therapeutic in nature, it is not a replacement for trauma therapy. The course teaches skills and creates a safe container and community in which to explore these tools. While these practices are invaluable to trauma healing, one-on-one work is also essential. If you don't already, I recommend you supplement this group course with individual counseling (you can learn more about working with me 1:1, or you can find other options through PsychologyToday.com)
This course will build on your personal work and support you in deepening your process. Therapists and other healing professionals have also benefited from learning more about trauma release techniques and dedicating time to their personal well-being.
All identities and orientations are welcome. This course is for anyone with a sincere interest in exploring their holistic well-being, and who wants to be an active participant in their healing. Sliding scale is available for BIPOC & Ukrainians in need.
