"In a time of headline reads, weekend intensives, and quickly acquired certifications, few stand out as having put forth the energy and time to know their craft or service truly. Katya does. My first introduction to Yoga Nidra was at a Yoga for PTSD training in which iRest presented. Shortly after that, I attended Katya's training. I was very impressed with both her teaching and the materials she provided with her course. Katya's education and passion for what she does are apparent, and yet she also expresses a genuine humility and vulnerability while exploring topics and ideas with her students. Her attention to detail and quality were top notch. This work has me dedicated to deepening my knowledge and honing my practice so I can be an instrument of liberation and healing." - Turtle Julian, yoga teacher
"I left training feeling so confident in myself and my ability to guide people through Yoga Nidra practices, which is vastly different from my YTT experience. I am forever grateful. My life has changed with this beautiful training. Katya has the most beautiful, loving soul of anyone I've ever met. I have never felt more comfortable in a group of women before in my life and I have never opened up the way I did in this training. I felt so safe, supported and blessed to have Katya and the other women around me walking through this journey with me, and I look forward to seeing how our relationships bloom over the years." - Carah Elizabeth, psychotherapist & yoga teacher
"The YogaNidratraining has been transformational for me. I feel like I am finally releasing deep seated emotions that I’ve stuffed since childhood. It’s not like my life is magically wonderful now. I still face significant "growth" moments. What I’m noticing is that my responses are more graceful and heart-centered. On a physical level, I have experienced heightened sensitivity (vision and hearing) and intuition. I was able to see people’s auras and realized it for the first time consciously the second and third day of training. I am able to follow my “gut reactions” and listen to my heart with less resistance from my analytical mind. The more people who commit themselves to this practice, the more peaceful and harmonious the world is becoming. Thank you for your beautiful dedication to following your path as a healer, teacher, trainer, therapist, and beautiful guide! I look forward to continuing to transform with this practice and the beautiful community we’re creating." - Betsy Cantrall, child mindfulness teacher
"Since becoming a Yoga Instructor, I always look forward to furthering my education with different modalities of Yoga. When I enrolled in Katya’s program I had practiced YogaNidra a handful of times. I did a lot of research on the best program to take and I am so happy I found Katya. She was so informative and attentive throughout. The training was well organized and informative. Katya is extremely knowledgeable and clearly has a passion for YogaNidra. She didn’t read out of a book or get tripped up while teaching. She knows the process so well and has so much experience that everything just flowed and I was able to learn so much from her. Being able to practice YogaNidra throughout the training was very valuable to me. Not only did it help to connect what I was learning but it was healing for me. I learned a lot about myself throughout the process. This was tough for me because I experienced a recent trauma that I have really been hanging on to. Katya held space for the process of learning, letting and grieving beautifully. After taking this training, I feel fully confident to lead a YogaNidra. " - Karen Baker, yoga teacher
"The training was amazing and left me feeling more connected to my inner being and more aware and present. It opened a new dimension and brought a deeper knowledge and love of this practice. The training was well balanced between academic teaching and personal exchange, respecting our spaces. Giving us the beautiful and powerful practices to experience the healing effects of YogaNidra was absolutely enriching. It helped me a lot with my chronic pain , as well as created more calmness and patience, allowing me to be more in the moment." - Dominique De La Rocha, yoga teacher

LoveJoy Yoga Nidra is a powerful guided practice influenced by the teachings I have received through a decade of yoga, hypnotherapy, and shamanic studies. LoveJoy Yoga Nidra is guided by my ever evolving exploration of the healing potential of altered states of consciousness and a balanced nervous system. This style of Yoga Nidra is a systematic journeying practice that explores and clears different levels of consciousness, while supporting the grounding of spiritual energy into the physical body. This practice activates and maintains healthy functioning on body, mind, energy, and soul levels. The intention of this practice is to support our liberation, empowerment, creativity, unconditional love, and joy of being.
I am grateful to all my teachers who have contributed to the wisdom and healing I am blessed to carry: Alan Finger, Mona Anand, Richard Miller, Kamini Desai, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, David Hartman, Michael Malone, Shahn McGuire, Susan Estep, Cari Webb, David Warren.

How is LoveJoy Yoga Nidra different from other styles of Yoga Nidra? LoveJoy Yoga Nidra is founded on the principles and practice of the Satyananda style of Yoga Nidra from the Bihar lineage. Where LoveJoy Yoga Nidra differs is that it is a trauma-informed practice, and there is greater attention paid to creating safety and containment. This style of Yoga Nidra also explores the subconscious mind in a deeper way through incorporating elements of hypnotherapy and shamanic journeying in order to create a dynamic, holistic, transformative, and healing experience.
